Our relationship has suffered with my wife's having fibromyalgia.

Our relationship has suffered with my wife's having fibromyalgia. I am having a hard time dealing with it as well as she. My wife takes meds for pain and depression for it. Communication and sex life have suffered. How can we address? We love each other.

Hi,

My friend Lisa Coplin has a great website and online forum with radio interviews especially for those with invisible illness.

What you are dealing with is real, and it is hard, so don't go through it alone:

(1) get friends around to help with practical things (call a party meeting if you need to with best friends and family)

(2) set up a support system so that you are not carrying such a heavy load as a husband and can actually have some time to enjoy your wife again.

(3) Have a few male friends to have fun with as a balancer too.

We are the body of Christ-- people will help if they know when to help and how to help, so call in the troops.

I'm praying!

Pam
