About the Webcast
It's challenging to be a military wife. You have to run the household and take care of the children while your husband is away for months at a time. But you don't have to be an army of one.
Join us this week as we talk with Sara Horn, the Founder and President of Wives of Faith, an organization dedicated to encouraging military wives. We'll also hear from Lt. Col. Les Knotts, and Cindy Wynn from Club Beyond; who reach out to military teens on bases all over the world.
Your Family Live! invites all active duty, reserve and retired military families to take part in a very special webcast honoring all military families!
About Our Featured Guests
Sara Horn
Sara Horn is the co-founder and president of Wives of Faith. As the wife of a Navy reservist, she realized the importance of connecting with other military wives when her husband Cliff started preparing for his first deployment to Iraq in 2007.
Sara is an award-winning writer and collaborator who has worked with high-profile authors, finishing seven books in five years.
In 2009, Sara was included in Military Spouse Magazine's annual "Who's Who Among Military Spouses." Her new book, GOD Strong: A Military Wife's Spiritual Survival Guide, released in February.
Lt. Col. Les Knotts and Cindy Wynn
Lt. Col. Les Knotts, U.S. west field director, and Cindy Wynn, staff development director, join us from Club Beyond®.
Club Beyond® is the name used by Military Community Youth to identify its ministry with military high school and middle school aged kids worldwide. Club Beyond staff and volunteers love young people and are available to journey with them through the hard challenges of adolescence, providing positive role models and exhibiting Christ-like behavior.
In addition to weekly 90 minute club meetings, Club Beyond also means retreats (usually one per semester), along with special activity nights, lock-ins, ski trips, summer camps, and work service projects. Club Beyond leaders also offer weekly Bible study sessions for those students who want to go deeper in their spiritual development and study of the Bible. All of these activities are well chaperoned, with high ratios of volunteer leaders for kids in attendance.
It's challenging to be a military wife. You wave goodbye to your husband, then keep it all going for your family and home. Military wife Sara Horn understands.
In God Strong she shares wisdom gleaned from her own experience, as well as from other military wives of all branches of the service, to help you remember that God is in control.
You can have true joy, regardless of your circumstances when you rely on God's promises in Scripture and His comfort through the Holy Spirit.
