Had I read this before then, I may have agreed with you on that Johnny Depp looks a bit creepy in his Mad Hatter getup. Sort of like a clown. However, after watching the movie, that appearance is now linked to the quirky character who quickly became my favorite.

Though, I concede that he does look rather silly.

Definitely loved Alice in Wonderland. I have always been a fan of Tim Burton's, so I was very glad to see that he was directing it. Sure enough, he put his own creative twist on it, and I thought it was great! Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was brilliant, and Crispin Glover and Helena Bonham Carter made for very sinister villains. Newcomer Mia Wasikoswka was also very good, and seemed to fit Alice's role very well. The only person who I didn't think quite delivered was Anne Hathaway as the White Queen--for some reason she didn't really fit in with the rest of the cast, and her performance was just so/so. But on the whole, the movie's got good morals, was cleverly written, and is graphically beautiful.

Did the Academy actually watch the movie. I mean the special effects surpassed any movie made this year. Not everybody liked this movie and I understand but I personally thought it was the best movie of the year. Absolutely ridiculous it did not win, the special effects and action sequences are amazing.

Needless to say the single ladies weren't too happy and they let me have it! Then some "Husbands" got involved defending the statement and WWIII broke out over what was meant to be an encouraging morning statement entered in, while sipping my coffee and reflecting on something I learned in Bible Study yesterday.

I personally haven't experienced a ton of TMI issues on FB, but I've certainly been a part of and witnessed many status posts taken out of context and firey arguments when opinions and perceptions clash.

In life we all have to learn lessons along the way about how to deal with others, when to give our two cents, when to hold our tongues, and appropriate social interactions. Most of us have a good deal of that figured out by the time we reach adulthood. But all of us are only about 4 or 5 years old when it comes to Social Networking online and boy do some of our slip-ups in "statuses" and "comments" show it.

And I find Johnny Depp to be an amazing actor. He just has such a wide range of emotions and talents, he really becomes whatever character it is he's playing. I knew this movie wasn't going to be as light and cheerful as, say, the 1951 Disney release, and I was cool with that. Tim Burton just has a slightly gothic, dark style and he manages to pull it over relatively well in his films. That being said, I have to say, I was slightly disappointed in the movie. Don't get me wrong, I definitely really really liked it. I just didn't love it. And I can't put my finger on what it was that kept me from totally loving it. Ah well, I guess I'll just have to see it again to figure it out! I went to a later showing, and the crowd was predominately late 20's and over. And I could definitely see how some younger kids would be attracted to this movie and then quite freaked out by it. Some parts could be rather unnerving. But it was an overall good fantasy. Can't wait to see it again!
